Lost Nation (2022)
Starring Eva Ndachi, Kevin Ryan, Matt Orduna, Rob Campbell. LOST NATION follows the parallel and intersecting journeys of impulsive, larger-than-life land speculator and Vermont founding father, Ethan Allen, and Lucy Terry Prince — a groundbreaking poet and justice advocate who was among the first free, Black settlers to Vermont. During the mid-to-late 18th Century, Vermont was hotly contested territory and Ethan Allen led recently settled poor farmers, to fight off feudal New York land barons who claimed their land. During this same period, Lucy and her husband Abijah Prince moved to the growing rural town of Guilford - the epicenter of Yorker resistance to Vermont rule. In addition to the struggles all small family farmers faced on this unstable northern frontier, the Princes had to protect their family and property against racist harassment from nearby neighbor, John Noyes, which they fought on multiple fronts - including all the way to the highest court in the fledgling Republic of Vermont.

“Truly impressive. Proves what can be done with a low budget and cool ideas.”
– Bryan van Campen, Ithaca Times
“Ultra-cool visuals… deliciously trippy. Absolutely check
it out.”
– Margot Harrison, Seven Days
Peter & John (2015)

“Has an almost mythic quality. With exceptional visual and auditory beauty, the film’s small story, precisely told, is relevant, as good art is, beyond its specific setting. The film reveals characters yet conceals mysteries that haunt the viewer afterwards.”
– Lee Roscoe, Provincetown Banner
“Sophisticated, seamless and powerful. Peter and John is a beautiful but often uncomfortable experience — and that’s what fine filmmaking is all about.”
– Jim Lowe, The Times Argus

long after.”
– Rachel Garber, The Sherbrooke Record
Disappearances (2007)
Starring Academy Award nominees Kris Kristofferson (Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid) and Genevieve Bujold (King of Hearts) and Gary Farmer (Smoke Signals). He takes along his 15 year-old son, his inscrutable brother-in-law, and his cranky hired man. Together, they cross the border into vast reaches of Canadian wilderness for three magical and action-packed days "full of terror, full of wonder.”
“Lovingly handmade…beautiful and raw…imbued with a robust charm.”
– Stephen Holden, New York Times
“A frequently mesmerizing stirringly acted frontier tale, with an exquisite sense of place. Craven's poetic sensibility is steeped in an appreciation of nature, as well as an awareness of man's ability to exist both in harmony and at odds with it, sometimes simultaneously.”
– Justin Chang, Variety
The experience went far beyond all of my expectations and I think it is one of the best experiences of my life. I would highly recommend it for anyone who has any interest in film.
